In February 2026, my close friend Savannah Baines and I co-created the Some Boma stage at Pandora Nexus in Stanford.
Together with a team of seven, we built a woven wooden arch stage using wattle (an invasive plant) grown on the farm. The majority of the materials used to build the structure were cut directly from the land, combined with woven placemats and light fixtures to add detail and texture to the stage.
We dyed fabrics and hung them in the trees, created lampshades, and added small homely finishes throughout the space.
The stage became the heartbeat of the festival — a central home where everyone could gather, relax, and connect throughout the three days.
Being part of the creative conceptualisation, build, and production of this stage was a huge honour.
Savannah and I also opened the stage with a bass music DJ set, setting the tone for the days ahead.
